As some of you may recall, a while back (could it even be a couple of years now?? Where does the time go…) I did a few “theme” DJ sets at Route 66, featuring either a particular artist or else songs that were thematically linked. Well, the time has come for it to make its triumphant return! I’m hoping this will be a great way to not only vary the music a bit more, but also to give greater exposure to some artists (or to other, maybe lesser known/lesser played songs by some of the more famous artists).
To kick off the series next week (Thursday, March 24th), I thought, what better way to start than with Nat King Cole? As I’m sure all of you know, his birthday was only just celebrated yesterday: March 17th! He is, of course, the inspiration behind the worldwide celebrations of “St. Nat’s Day” (though of course the Irish, for some reason, choose to celebrate some obscure Catholic saint on the same day instead; what’s up with that?). So expect to hear plenty of your favourite Nat King Cole tunes, from “Straighten Up and Fly Right” to “Orange Coloured Sky”, and maybe a couple you didn’t know as well. 🙂
See you when we swing you!
All the best,
Jamie and Clare
